Pierre Garcon laid out to make an unreal catch to earn the Redskins a victory

The Washington Redskins trailed the Philadelphia Eagles by four points as they were driving down the field late in the fourth quarter. After 14 plays and 86 yards, the Redskins had four yards to get across the goal line. Pierre Garcon was then able to make an unbelievable effort to put the Redskins ahead with little time remaining.

On 2nd and goal, Garcon was on an out in the front of the endzone and Kirk Cousins fired a pass in his direction. Garcon then laid out for it and got his hands around the ball before taking a couple of big hits from Eagles defenders. Amazingly, Garcon was able to hang on:

After the extra point, the Redskins were ahead by three points with only 26 seconds remaining in the game. They were then able to keep Philly from making a miracle happen in that amount of time and picked up a big win thanks to Garcon’s go-ahead score.

Granted, this all happened against a struggling Eagles team littered with problems. However, it’s a positive sign for the Redskins that Garcon is engaged enough to be willing to put his body on the line like that and make a big play in such a big moment. It’s equally as impressive that they completed the drive in a clutch moment. This may sound crazy, but there’s hope for this Redskins team.
