J.R. Smith isn’t afraid to pick up a flagrant foul in the preseason (Video)

It may only be the preseason, but don’t tell that to J.R. Smith or his flagrant foul quota.

The Cleveland Cavaliers and J.R. Smith had a bit of a standoff of sorts when it came to the guard opting out of a cool $6 million and tying to get more on the open market. Needless to say, that didn’t happen, and J.R. looked like he might have made a major mistake in overvaluing himself in free agency.

Luckily for him, the Cavs decided that he was indeed a fit and actually gave him more money in the long term than he would have gotten had he opted back in this summer. Not only is J.R. Smith happy that the Cavaliers bailed him out and gave him a do-over, but he’s already settling back in as the player Cavs fans got used to watching last season.

That’s right — J.R. Smith is taking jumpers and doling out flagrant fouls in the preseason.

We can’t be that surprised that J.R. is out there going full J.R. Swish on the world in just the preseason. There is zero chill in the world of J.R., and this is what the Cavaliers paid for this summer. That’s not to say they want him out there doing this in just the first preseason game of the year, but it’s something that comes with the territory.
