LeBron James didn’t hesitate to take a selfie with some of his fans as the Cleveland Cavaliers faced the Atlanta Hawks in their preseason opener.

The NBA preseason is an important time for teams to come together and start working out any kinks from the offseason if they’ve made various signings and subtractions to their roster. Ultimately, though, the games themselves don’t mean anything. With that in mind, it’s all good fun if LeBron James takes a moment to capture a selfie with some fans.

Although, we seem to be in the age of selfies. So how could he resist?

As the Cleveland Cavaliers went up against the Atlanta Hawks to kick-off their 2015-16 preseason, LeBron decided to take a few seconds during a timeout to treat some of his endless fans to a selfie. Considering the majority of those featured in the selfie were kids, it’s safe to say it made their night.

Or, to be more accurate, it probably made their entire basketball season before it’s even begun.

While the selfie may have been all fun and games for LeBron, the contest itself didn’t go quite as the Cavaliers would have liked. The Hawks won 96-98 to hand the Cavs their first loss of another long season. But after Cleveland abruptly ended Atlanta’s 60 win regular season in the Eastern conference finals with a swift 4-0 sweep, this is at least a small confidence boost for the Hawks.

As for LeBron, his shooting performance really was in preseason form. He shot just 3-of-13 from the floor and finished with 8 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals in 22 minutes. Aside from those shaky shooting numbers, though, that kind of production in barely 20 minutes is a good start to shake off some rust after the offseason.

Plus, a loss to the Hawks means nothing for the Cavaliers going forward. With Kevin Love expected to participate in full practice for the first time since undergoing shoulder surgery after the Kelly Oylnyk situation in the first round of the playoffs last season, the Cavs finally have their star power forward back.

Yet, on the other hand, Iman Shumpert is now out for at least three months for wrist surgery. So it really doesn’t look like the Cavs can catch a break when it comes to having a healthy roster.

While that may be LeBron James’ last selfie of the season, though, we can be sure to see him get off to another strong start with one of his fellow All-Stars by his side again in the very near future.
