Antonio Cromartie talked some wide receivers on Friday and he had some strong words for Odell Beckham Jr.

New York Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie is one of the best defensive backs in the game of football, so when he talks wide receivers, you’re going to take his opinion as something pretty relevant. He talked this subject on Friday, but while he was discussing the wideouts in the NFL, he took a bit of a shot at one of the brightest young stars at the position.

Cromartie was a guest on ESPN’s SportsNation on Friday and he was asked who the three best receivers in the NFL are. His answer? Calvin Johnson, Antonio Brown and Dez Bryant. That seems like a pretty reasonable list, right?

It does, but Max Kellerman just had to ask why Odell Beckham Jr. is not on that list, seeing as he has the most touchdowns of anyone over the last 16 games. Well, Cromartie’s answer to this one was pretty plain and simple. Beckham is not on his list simply because he’s a “one-year-wonder.”

The comment comes at around the 1:06 mark in the video below.

To an extent, he’s not wrong. Beckham still has a lot of years left in the league, and really all we have to see from him is one year of highlights. However, to that point, they were some incredible highlights for a rookie.

Either way, Cromartie doesn’t see his New York counterpart among the elite just yet.
