Both the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers were hoping for their second win of the year, but only one could keep playoff hopes alive.

25. 42. 20. 26. Final

The Baltimore Ravens began the season 1-4 heading into week six and were looking to finally come away with some good luck and momentum heading into week seven. However, the offense got off to a very slow start and saw the San Francisco 49ers‘ lead mount to 19-6.

A big Steve Smith Sr. touchdown cut that lead to six late in the game and it looked like we would see another Joe Flacco comeback in the fourth quarter after the first three quarters were dominated by Justin Tucker and Phil Dawson in a snoozer.

Colin Kaepernick really stepped his play up for this one as he led his 49ers to their second win of the year while Anquan Boldin looked like himself from about four years ago, recording a 100-yard game.

On the other side, Joe Flacco did all he could and Smith Sr. played his best game of the year, but it ultimately wasn’t enough as the Ravens fell to a reeling 49ers team.

Three Stars

Colin Kaepernick was just a beast in this one, completing 16-of-27 passes for 340 yards and two touchdowns. He looked like a completely different quarterback through the air.

Steve Smith Sr. had his best game of the year and he will clearly be retiring on a high note as he can still produce at a high level. He caught seven passes for 137 yards and a touchdown.

This one is a tie between Anquan Boldin and Torrey Smith because it was too hard to decide. Boudin finished with five catches for 102 yards while Smith had three catches for 96 yards and a 75-yard touchdown catch.

Highlights

Odds

Baltimore was a 2.5-point favorite in this one and the over/under was 43.5 points. If you picked the over, you were right, but if you picked the Ravens to cover, you are probably not too happy.

Next Week

Baltimore will go on to face the Arizona Cardinals on Monday night next week. That won’t be an easy game to win on the road, but we just saw the Cardinals lose today against Landry Jones and Michael Vick. Joe Flacco can get the job done.

San Francisco gets the division rival Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night this week. Both teams are struggling to begin the year, but it’s still early and a win could give either one a step up out of the NFC West basement.
