Russell Westbrook appears in a Mountain Dew Kickstart commercial and it’s interesting to say the very least.

Russell Westbrook’s most recent foray in advertising features a strikingly odd commercial for Mountain Dew Kickstart. Knowing Westbrook’s eccentricity when it comes to fashion choices, why would one expect anything less than an ad featuring him in lime green suit in a perpetual gliding power stance consuming the marketed energy drink?

Apparently all it takes for Westbrook to get out of Oklahoma City thunder sweats is one sip of black cherry Kickstart and he’s gliding across his kitchen floor and into the world dressed like the finest patron of St. Patrick’s Day.

Kickstart gives Westbrook enough of a jolt to power slide through the stucco façade of his dwelling. The world simply cannot handle the chartreuse-clad point guard. Women, pickup basketball players, and even cab drivers stand no chance, as Westbrook is the color on envy in their eyes.

This isn’t all that surprising since Westbrook is known for wearing vibrant clothing and lens-less glasses often. Was he always like this dapper of a dresser or did wearing the colorful uniforms of the Oklahoma City Thunder drive to explore the many hues of the universe. He’s becoming the Craig Sager of the NBA when it comes to fashion.

At the end of the day, Russell Westbrook is still one of the most electrifying players in the NBA. Very few play with as much passion or energy as Westbrook. Now that Mountain Dew Kickstart is on his side, look out Western Conference. The only thing slowing down Westbrook this season is if he thinks he can take a charge in that position. Not even Shane Battier could draw a charge in that awesome power slide.

For Westbrook, this commercial works. Could Blake Griffin or James Harden done this spot? Possibly, as Griffin is in as many commercials as Peyton Manning and Harden could adequately sell Kickstart with his own brand of eccentricity. This ad will do one of two things, sell canned beverages or become an awesomely bad commercial fans will bring back to the surface when Westbrook is forever enshrined in Springfield many years from now.
