What is the greatest moment in the history of each NBA franchise?

It’s been over four months since reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors were hoisting the Larry O’Brien Trophy as the 2015 NBA Champions. That’s a long time to go without meaningful NBA basketball, but the wait is almost over. The 2015-16 NBA regular season is here with the season opening up on Tuesday, Oct. 27 with the Detroit Pistons vs. Atlanta Hawks and Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Chicago Bulls tipping off the season at 8 p.m. ET.

Even if no one will ever be as great as Michael Jordan was during his prime and even if you believe that the Larry Bird-Magic Johnson battles in the mid-80s will never be rivaled, it’s still hard to deny that we are in the golden age of the NBA. With the star power currently in the league and the ease of consumption of NBA action—be it through Vines, Twitter, YouTube, League Pass, or whatever avenue—there has never been a better time to be a fan of the NBA.

More now than ever, if something incredible happens on any given night in the Association, you’ll be able to see it within a few minutes. The days of sitting through an hour of a highlight show to see one dunk or amazing moment that we heard about from a friend are over; great moments can be seen near instantaneously.

What’s wonderful about that is that there are so many players at different stages of their careers that can all create something remarkable on the hardwood on any given night. Guys like the aforementioned Curry, LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, and even guys of a lesser star like Zach LaVine and Giannis Antetokounmpo are all capable of doing something transcendent any time they’re on the floor.

As exciting and easy to view as these current highlights and moments may be, this is a league that has a rich and storied history. Subsequently, this is a league ripe with incredible moments that will be remembered with reverence for their greatness for the rest of time. Each team has those moments and fans of those teams and of the NBA recognize their greatness.

Granted, some teams have more memorable moments than others. Teams like the Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers, San Antonio Spurs, and Boston Celtics all have a bevy of all-time great moments that the organization was a part of. Trying to pin down what the greatest of those moments is certainly isn’t an easy task, though.

However, that’s what I’m trying to do. Taking a look back at the immense history of the NBA, every team has their moments of greatness; but these are the greatest moments in the history of each NBA franchise:
