After reports early in the day said that Jordan Hicks would only be out for 2-4 weeks, later reports revealed that Hicks would be placed on the season-ending injury reserve.

The Philadelphia Eagles fans have been taken on a roller coaster ride, and the end result of that ride is nothing to be happy about. In Sunday’s overtime thriller win against the Dallas Cowboys, Jordan Hicks injured his pectoral muscle. At first glance, it looked bad, and looked like he would be out for the season due to it tearing.

Ian Rapoport reported early on in the day that this assumption of his season being over appeared to be wrong, but his report was actually Tweeted out before he got his MRI.

Jay Glazer followed up later, saying that the Eagles were putting Hicks on the season-ending injury reserve, with what ended up being a torn pectoral. It looks like things looked good on the outside with the injury, but they found something they couldn’t tell without the MRI.

This is a huge loss for the Eagles, who have struggled with members of their defense getting injured all season. When one comes back, another always seems to get hurt. Hicks has been huge in his rookie year on defense, up to his injury compiling 47 tackles, and one interception. That interception came on Sunday night, and was a big run-back for a touchdown.

The Eagles look to bounce back despite this injury, as they aren’t that far behind the division-leading New York Giants.
