In the Indiana Pacers‘ Monday night game against the Orlando Magic, Paul George broke a tie by hitting a wild layup on a drive to the hoop, and drew a foul in the process.

Paul George has a mission this season: prove everyone wrong who thought he couldn’t get back to his previous form. The Indiana Pacers faced off against the Orlando Magic on Monday night, and George was set to make an impact from the get-go.

With the game tied up at 20, Paul George got the ball just above the foul-line and saw a hole. Smartly, he went to the lane, looking to drive to the hoop. Victor Oladipo met him at the rim, but couldn’t get his feet set to draw a charge, and ended up fouling George instead.

Knocked off balance and off center, George launched up a prayer, but did so with skill, and got the shot to bank off the glass and fall in.

George missed a good chunk of last season due to a tragic leg break during the Team USA basketball festivities in 2014. He only played six games, but scored double digits in three of them. So far this year, he’s proving anyone who doubted his return wrong, scoring 23.0 points 4.6 assists, and 9.3 rebounds per game. There hasn’t been a single game this year that George has not scored double digits, and coming into Monday had scored over 30 points in two consecutive games.

It’s clear to see with this play and the way George’s season is going, he’s excited to be back.
