Zach Miller came up with a phenomenal catch for the Bears’ go-ahead touchdown

The Chicago Bears trailed the San Diego Chargers for over 56 minutes of Monday Night Football, but started making some noise in the fourth quarter. Trailing by only five points and driving down the field with less than five minutes remaining, Zach Miller came up with the biggest and most incredible play of the game to give the Bears the lead.

Jay Cutler had been coming up with big throw after big throw to keep Chicago alive in the game. After he got his team 25 yards out, he stepped up in the pocket and fired a rocket over the middle of the field to a streaking Miller. Miller then reached up with one hand to tip the throw down to himself and haul it in as he crossed the goal line for the score:

After Jeremy Langford ran it in for the two-point conversion, the Bears took a 22-19 lead over the Chargers with only 3:19 remaining in the game. Talk about a clutch moment for Miller to pull that catch out of his bag of tricks.

That kind of play couldn’t have come from a less likely player, either. Miller had just one target and catch prior to that touchdown grab; that one went for a loss of two yards. Sometimes it doesn’t matter what you’ve done before, only that you step up when your team needs a big play. I’d say Miller’s catch fits that billing.
