Every week we have something shocking happen in the CFB Playoff Rankings, and this week that was Iowa moving up to No. 5 in the country.

If you stopped someone on the street and asked them to rattle off the top five teams in the country right now in College Football, Iowa probably wouldn’t be among those teams.

Ask the room full of CFB Playoff committee members who they think the No. 5 team in the country is, and Iowa is apparently the answer. When the latest rankings were revealed on Tuesday, Iowa jumped from No. 9 last week to the first team out of the playoff. It was something that fans and analysts on Twitter really weren’t sure to feel about, as Baylor fans were once again snubbed in a big way.

The jury of opinion is still very much out on Iowa, who pretty much snuck up on everyone out of nowhere. They’re not a powerhouse team we’ve been obsessed with this season, but this week is going to be all about the Hawkeyes — who only need to stay out of their own way to make the CFB Playoff at the end of the season.
