Bryce Harper is one of the best baseball players on the planet, but he just can’t pronounce “memes”

Hopefully, Washington Nationals star Bryce Harper doesn’t hope to join the world of internet blogging, because he made one grave mistake on Thursday night that might be unforgivable.

To start, it should be noted that Harper is having himself one amazing day, as he collected himself a unanimous National League MVP award. After the season this bright young star had, he earned every bit of it.

Well, of course, this landed him an appearance on SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt, and right near the end of the interview is where the blunder took place. When Van Pelt asked Harper a question about either being bald forever and a great baseball player still, or stay with that glorious hair of his and be not so powerful, this is where we learned that Harper has no idea how to pronounce the word, “meme.”

Oh man, Bryce, that wasn’t even close. I mean, you can see where his intention where there, but he clearly has no idea how to pronounce it. And from the context of what he was telling Van Pelt, it seems that he’s looked at one or two of them in his day.

Start off the day as the MVP of the league and you end it with letting the world know you know nothing about the internet world.

(Yeah, he probably doesn’t care one bit because, you know, he just won the MVP)
