UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson plays matchmaker in the women’s bantamweight division.

The UFC women’s bantamweight division has been a mess since Holly Holm beat Ronda Rousey at UFC 193, but UFC flyweight king Demetrious Johnson knows which fights he wants to see now that the champ has been dethroned.

According to a report by MMAJunkie.com, Johnson said that he would like to see contender Miesha Tate challenge for the women’s bantamweight belt against Holly Holm, and he would like to see Ronda Rousey’s next fight come against Amanda Nunes. While he adds these aren’t the big money fights, he likes the match ups from a martial arts perspective.

“I mean, everybody is trying to make the big money, but as a martial artist, I’d like to see her fight Amanda Nunes,”Johnson declared. “And I don’t want to see Holly on ice. I want see Holly fight maybe Miesha Tate. Yeah, Miesha Tate would be good. That way things keep going….You don’t have to put things on hold. Holly Holm is a hot commodity right now. Let’s keep it rolling. I think she would like to get a fight in there, too. But, then again, everybody is all about the money, so we’ll see what happens.”

Johnson makes a fair point about putting Holm on ice. The newly-minted UFC women’s bantamweight champion would have to wait six months to get another fight with Ronda Rousey, and by that time Holm might drift out of the public eye.

However, it would be hard to not give the women who built women’s MMA in the UFC an immediate shot at the title after what she has done for the sport.
