Celtics guard Evan Turner threw the worst pass you’ll ever see against the Wizards

Boston Celtics guard Evan Turner is the subject of quite a bit of criticism on the Internet. His reliance on mid-range jump shots and his affinity for trying to do too much out of isolation sets doesn’t exactly endear him to the growing contingent of fans adapting to the modern NBA. Also not helping Turner’s case is his propensity to make incredibly dumb plays, which he undoubtedly di on Friday night against the Washington Wizards.

In the second quarter, Turner was predictably in an iso situation and drove toward the middle of the lane. He saw Kelly Olynyk wide-open out on the wing and, despite not having a great angle to make the pass, tried to feed the Celtics big man the ball. Unfortunately, his one-handed, overhead, jump pass sailed over Olynyk’s head and well into the stands in TD Garden:

In fairness, the guy in the fifth row who I can only assume caught this pass probably had a pretty uncontested look at a shot as well. It would just help if the open man that Turner looks to find with his ill-advised passes is under contract with the Celtics and isn’t holding a beer and nachos.
