Les Miles has denied that Saturday will be his last game as head coach of the LSU Tigers as conflicting reports have come out of Baton Rouge on his future.

The never-ending Les Miles saga at LSU that’s picked up some steam recently has heated up on the afternoon of Black Friday, as conflicting reports have come out of Baton Rouge with both reporting that Miles has either confirmed or denied that Saturday will be his final game. This just adds further fuel to the soap opera surrounding the Tigers coach and the speculation about his future at the school going into Saturday’s game against Texas A&M.

An LSU beat writer reported earlier on Friday afternoon that Miles had told the LSU Gridiron Club booster group that Saturday would be his last game as the Tigers take on the Aggies in Baton Rouge. That report was then rebuffed by another LSU beat reporter, who reported that two sources who spoke directly to Miles have said that the head coach has firmly denied that Saturday will be his last game at the program.

The Miles speculation is not going away, and with the Tigers headed for a disappointing season regardless of how their final regular season game and bowl appearance turn out. There is a good chance that LSU makes the bold decision to fire Miles.

We will see if the Aggies game is truly the last we see of Miles in Baton Rouge, something that makes Saturday’s game of interest even if it has very little SEC or National Champions implications.

In a small update  to this situation, ESPN’s Mark Schlabach is also reporting that Miles did not indicate that Saturday would be it.
