Colorado Buffaloes vs. Utah Utes

The Utah Utes will try to bounce back from a pair of disappointing losses when they host the Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday afternoon at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

Utah raced out to a 6-0 start at was ranked as high as third in the AP Poll before losing three of its last fives games, including two in a row to Arizona and UCLA. While the Utes are out of the race for the Pac-12 start, they can improve bowl position on Saturday and cap a very successful season.

With star running back Devontae Booker out, Utah will have to find a way to generate more offense that it did in last week’s ugly loss to the Bruins. Quarterback Travis Wilson has had an inconsistent season and will need to be at his best to avoid the upset.

Colorado is slowly improving under third-year head coach Mike MacIntyre, but is still just 4-8 on the season without a signature win. An upset of Utah would be a huge springboard for the Buffaloes heading into a crossroads season.

The Buffaloes themselves will need to generate some offense without their best player, as quarterback Sefo Liufau is out with a foot injury. Wide receiver Nelson Spruce, the Pac-12’s all-time receptions leader, will need a huge game to keep Colorado in it.
