After Alabama running back Derrick Henry had 46 carries, Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliot joked about it on Twitter.

Ezekiel Elliot wants more carries. After carrying the Buckeyes on the ground against Michigan on Saturday, everyone once again was reminded just how good Elliot is when the Buckeyes hand off the ball to him. Unfortunately, it came on the heels after a week where the Buckeyes barely fed him the ball and their championship hopes went by the wayside.

Elliot is taking notice of one running back that is getting touches. Alabama’s Derrick Henry has been a workhorse this season is on his way to a Heisman, thanks in part to how many times he had been fed the ball and the fact the Tide are rolling toward the College Football Playoff.

After Henry had 46 carries on the day, Elliot joked, or at least it appeared that way, on Twitter about the number of carries that Henry had.

As one could imagine, that tweet blew up right away with people thinking that Elliot was jealous of Henry and throwing shade at the Buckeyes’ coaching staff. He was quick to follow it up with another tweet, as he wondered why people had to turn it into a negative.

"Why does everything I say have to be turned bad"

While it’s easy to assume why people would take it the wrong way, it’s clear that Elliot and head coach Urban Meyer have no problems with each other and that there is probably nothing to be seen here. Had he not had issued a tweet after, it might have not come across as good.

He’s just a man that wants his touches, because he believes he can and has shown that he can have the same success that Henry has with so many touches.

It’s simply game recognizing game.
