The Oklahoma Sooners and Oklahoma State Cowboys battled in Bedlam for the Big 12 title on Saturday night

Saturday night we got the annual Bedlam game between the Oklahoma Sooners and the Oklahoma State Cowboys. However, this year, the stakes were a little higher than usual, with this year’s contest being for the Big 12 Championship and possibly a berth in the College Football Playoff.

When it was all said and done Saturday night, the Sooners left no doubt they were the Big 12 champs.

The first half of this one, Oklahoma showed off their dominance and made it known to the world that they in fact may be one of the top four teams in the country. They took a commanding 44-20 lead into the half, although a lot of those points came from a dominating second quarter. Being up just 14-10 at the end of the first, Oklahoma outscored Oklahoma State 30-10 in the second, behind touchdown runs from both Samaje Perine and Joe Mixon, but also a pick-six from Justin Thomas as well.

Oklahoma State got the first score of the second half, but it was just a field goal. With about four minutes left to go in the third quarter, Baker Mayfield would take one in from five yards out to make it 51-23.

In the fourth quarter, Mixon would add a six-yard touchdown to move the score to 58-23, and that would be all in this one.
