Rob Gronkowski injury update: Gronk carted off field

The New England Patriots are already down two receiving targets, and lost Rob Gronkowski in the now at Denver.

The absolute last thing the New England Patriots needed was to lose another receiving target, but that’s exactly what happened on Sunday. After losing both Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola this year, the Patriots suffered the greatest loss that the undefeated team could have.

In the fourth quarter of a game the Patriots were winning 21-17 at the time, Rob Gronkowski took a nasty fall and was writhing in pain afterwords — needing to get carted of the field. Ground refused to actually use the cart, but he was in serious amounts of pain and looked unable to put any weight on his injured leg.

Right away, the Patriots ruled Gronk out for the rest of the night.

There was good news though, as after Gronk left the game, he was reportedly up and walking around the Patriots locker room.

This is encouraging in that Gronk won’t be out for a significant period of time but it’s a scare that showed us in more than one way on Sunday that the Patriots were mortal.
