Aaron Rodgers has denied that he and his fellow Green Bay Packers have conducted a players only meeting.

NBC analyst, Cris Collingsworth, mentioned the existence of a players only meeting before the Week 10 victory over NFC North rivals Minnesota Vikings during the Green Bay Packers’ Thanksgiving loss to the Chicago Bears. However, Rodgers has since publically denied such a meeting, stating that something said in an NBC production meeting was misconstrued. Rodgers said:

"“That’s false. It didn’t happen in the way he explained it. There wasn’t any players-only meeting. There’s meetings with the offense all the time. We break up offense and defense, we break up into position groups, but there wasn’t anything resembling what he talked about, from what I heard.”"

Aaron Rodgers and his Packers have struggled mightily in recent weeks. After starting the season 6-0 and looking like the best side in the NFC, the Green Bay offense has stalled greatly. Proceeding to lose the next 3, the Packers lost the NFC North lead to the Minnesota Vikings, and although they beat the Vikings last week, Thursday’s loss has seen them slip a game behind the NFC North lead.

It is concerning to learn of possible friction between the players and coaching staff, however, Rodgers was quick to dispel such doubts. The Packers now face a resurgent Detroit Lions on Thursday, who after pummeling the Eagles on Thanksgiving are full of confidence. Matthew Stafford achieved his first win in Lambeau Field 2 weeks ago, and will look towards another victory on Thursday night. Aaron Rodgers will have to return to top form to win on Thursday, and keep the pressure on Minnesota for the race to win the NFC North.
