After Michigan State was ranked No. 5 in the College Football Playoff rankings, Twitter reacted accordingly.

For the second week in a row, the College Football Playoff rankings held serve with the same four teams as last week, with Clemson at No. 1, Alabama at No. 2, Oklahoma at No. 3 and Iowa at No.4. The team that was right on the outside looking at No. 5, was the Michigan State Spartans.

The Spartans have been right there the last couple of weeks after their upset victory over the Ohio State Buckeyes, who sit No. 6 in the rankings. With the strength of the Big Ten this season, it’s become a foregone conclusion that the winner of the conference will move onto the playoffs.

With No. 4 and No. 5 facing off for the conference championship this week, it’s pretty much seen as a play-in game for the playoff. With that being said, people reacted on Twitter to Michigan State being the No. 5 team in the rankings.

"Michigan state is about to humiliate Iowa"

As is obvious from the reaction on Twitter, it is very clear that people see Michigan State as the strongest team in the conference heading into their battle this Saturday with Iowa. They’ll have to prove their play on the field again, but that’s something they’ve done all season.

Regardless, Twitter feels that they should be in.
