NBA on TNT sideline reporter Craig Sager handled the sideline duties during tonight’s Spurs-Grizzlies game, which meant we got to see an exchange with head coach Gregg Popovich.

NBA on TNT sideline reporter Craig Sager has had a rough past few years. He has battled cancer twice but seems to be good to go, as he returned to the sidelines for TNT for games every Thursday night.

Over the years, Sager has had classic exchanges with San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich during the in-between-quarter interviews. Popovich always calls out Sager on the unique attire he comes dressed in for games and gives him little feedback for questions asked.

Well, Thursday’s game between the Spurs and Memphis Grizzlies was the first time Popovich and Sager would meet on the sidelines since Sager battled cancer for the second time. As usual, the exchange between the two was awesome.

Check it out below.

Popovich welcomed Sager back in the first part of the interview, but asked the long-time reporter to ask him one of his usual questions. Sager asked about Popovich benching his entire first unit, to which he replied, “They were playing like crap, so we put in different guys. You’d do the same thing.”

These interviews will never get old.
