In addition to Sting, the other inductees to the WWE Hall of Fame in 2016 have been leaked

With WrestleMania season rapidly approaching and the extravaganza of a weekend sitting just over two months in the future, the fanfare for the event is already ramping up. That obviously starts with the 2016 Royal Rumble on Sunday, Jan. 24, but it also began with the announcement that Sting would be the first inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2016. However, the other names in the 2016 class for the Hall of Fame have leaked.

According to a WWE source and as reported by What Culture, the other five inductees that will be joining Sting have been revealed. Those five inductees are John Bradshaw Layfield (commentary’s JBL), Jacqueline, The Fabulous Freebirds, Charles Wright (The Godfather, Papa Shango, etc.), and Regis Philbin will be the latest addition to the celebrity wing of the WWE Hall of Fame.

It’s 100 percent apparent that WWE is pushing hard to sell this Hall of Fame class to the Dallas, TX crowd as JBL and Jacqueline are both from Texas and the Freebirds were one of the most popular acts in Texas during their primes as they worked all over the state feuding with the Von Erichs.

Meanwhile, Wright was wildly popular in the Attitude Era with his Godfather gimmick—one that wouldn’t fly for a second in the PG Era—and also happens to be a close friend of The Undertaker. Meanwhile, Philbin has long supported WWE on his various programs and gets the dubious honor of going into the inane celebrity wing.

It’s pretty clear from this leak that Sting is going to headline the 2016 WWE Hall of Fame class of inductees, unless there is someone else coming that hasn’t yet been leaked. Hopefully that’s the case, though, because outside of Sting and the Freebirds, this class is wholly underwhelming.
