Blake Griffin rumors have been coming fast and furious recently, as the Los Angeles Clippers appear to be very serious about dealing their star power forward.

Originally it was the Denver Nuggets who first have expressed interest in acquiring Griffin, and now the Philadelphia 76ers have had discussions with the Clippers according to Sam Amico.

It has been an awful past few seasons to have to watch 76ers basketball, as despite getting high draft picks in the lottery, the product on the court hasn’t improved. With those poor records does come some interesting trade chips for the 76ers, who appear to be looking to finally add a star.

Depending on what the Clippers want, the 76ers could offer future draft picks in addition to young players, which would still likely be high in the draft even with Griffin. Philadelphia would likely offer a package with their power forward Nerlens Noel, who was the sixth overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.

Noel is likely going to be part of any package that the 76ers offer for Griffin, as the Clippers likely wouldn’t be too interested in Jahlil Okafor, as the pairing of him and DeAndre Jordan doesn’t make much sense.

This season, Noel is averaging 10.7 points, 8.2 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, and 1.6 steals per game. Noel is an excellent defensive player, and the thought of him with Jordan in the front court would be one to fear on the defensive end of the court.

The 76ers’ package could also involve a few players that would make nice role players on the Clippers, as Ish Smith, Isiah Canaan, and Robert Covington could help solidify the Clippers’ bench.

It is becoming very clear that the Clippers are serious about moving Griffin, and it will be very interesting to monitor what kind of packages are being offered for the All-Star.
