USC Athletic Director Pat Haden announced that he will be stepping down from the position in June.

The USC Trojans will be looking for a brand new athletic director. On Friday, USC AD Pat Haden announced that he will be stepping down from the position in June.

Haden joined on at USC after Mike Garrett stepped down from the position amid the Reggie Bush scandal. Haden tried to turn the Trojans around in his time with the program, but USC never reached the level of prominence that they were used to having.

He’ll forever be tied to the decision to hire Steve Sarkisian and ultimately to fire him following alcoholism affecting his ability to perform his job. The Trojans then turned the program over to Clay Helton, who helped guide the Trojans through an interim status on multiple instances with success.

While Haden will be stepping down, he’s going to remain on to help guide the renovation of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, as they continue to update it match modern times. The Stadium will also be home to the Los Angeles Rams over the next few seasons as well.

Haden will always be a beloved member of the Trojans’ program for his years at quarterback and his continued work with the program ever since.

It’s not clear who the Trojans will turn to next to lead their athletic programs, but if history is any indicator on the decision, USC will likely look to a fellow Trojan to become the next AD of the program.
