According to a report, Chicago Bulls forward Jimmy Butler does not have a tear in his knee after being carted off the floor Friday.

The Chicago Bulls have been holding their breath since Friday night when star forward Jimmy Butler was carted off the floor during the team’s game against the Denver Nuggets on the road. Butler went down to the floor and clutched his knee and immediately the worst fears for the Bulls came to life.

The team has already been dealt with a barrage of injuries this season, including losing center Joakim Noah to a shoulder injury and watching Butler hit the deck was a worrying sight for Bulls fans.

There appears to be good news in regards to Butler’s knee. According to Sean Highkin, an MRI revealed a left knee strain and there is reportedly no timetable for his return.

To make the news even better, K.C. Johnson reported that there is no tear in Butler’s knee, which means he should be able to come back soon.

With only a few games until the NBA All-Star break, it make sense for the Bulls to rest Butler until then. However, Butler’s a competitor and will probably do whatever he can to get back on the court right away considering there is no tear in his left knee.

The Bulls have already had to deal with losing one of their star players in Derrick Rose to knee injuries again and losing their next star in Butler to a knee injury would have been devastating for the franchise. The good news is that the knee is fine and he should be back on the court for the Bulls’ stretch run toward the postseason soon enough.
