No. 10 Michigan State Spartans vs Michigan Wolverines

Not too long ago, the Michigan State Spartans were searching for answers following a three-game losing streak, capped off by one-point losses to Wisconsin and then Nebraska at home. Since then, the Spartans have been destroying opponents, winning three straight by an average of 24.7 points — including a nine-point win over No. 7 Maryland.

Now that the Spartans are back on track, Michigan is next up on the schedule and it will be a tough road game against the rival. Denzel Valentine is a strong national player of the year candidate, averaging 18.5 points, 7.8 rebounds and 6.6 assists per game. Bryn Forbes has also been a key contributor, averaging 13.6 points and shooting 48 percent from long range.

Without Caris LeVert, the Wolverines are an inconsistent team. Still, though, Michigan is having a much better year than it did a season ago without the star guard. The Wolverines are 17-6 overall, but have been losing to Big Ten teams with a solid post presence — Michigan is more of a perimeter team.

Duncan Robinson is currently the leading active scorer, averaging 12.5 points per game while making nearly 49 percent of his three-point tries. Derrick Walton Jr. is right behind him, scoring 11.7 points with 5.8 rebounds and four assists per game. If Michigan gets hot from deep, it could be a long day for the Spartans.
