Marshawn Lynch’s retirement tweet during Super Bowl 50 has been confirmed by the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch dropped his retirement news during Super Bowl 50. After the big game, the team thanked Lynch for his service to the team and confirmed the running back’s retirement.
Beast Mode will be remembered by Seahawks fans for his ability to find the lanes for the open field or end zone. Additionally, his scoring celebrations and other moves on the field that, some of which included Skittles, captivated those who followed the league as a whole.
Now the team has a need at running back in order to fill in for the veteran. Luckily, the 2016 NFL Draft will be here shortly and they still have Russell Wilson at quarterback. Before the NFL Draft, it wouldn’t be surprising for the team to release more on the veteran’s retirement and even announce when he would be honored during a regular season game in 2016.
Opposing teams will have one less running threat to scout and plan for during their scouting assignments. Lynch brought a lot of skill and fun to the league, but will be remembered most for his “I’m here so I don’t get fined” phrase that was used during the festivities that lead up to Super Bowl XLIX against the Denver Broncos instead of answering the media member’s questions for the veteran running back.
