The Hawks and Magic have reportedly discussed a Jeff Teague for Victor Oladipo swap.

With the NBA trade deadline just a week away, things are starting to heat up when it comes to rumors that are getting poured out of the mill. One name to keep a keen eye on is Atlanta Hawks guard jJeff Teague. He’s been rumored to be on the move, with the Pacers reportedly offering George Hill for him this week.

Now another possible deal has emerged with the Orlando Magic apparently getting in on the Jeff Teague sweepstakes with a rather intriguing offer.

According to New York Daily news reporter Frank Isola, the Hawks and Magic have engaged in talks about swapping Jeff Teague for Victor Oladipo.

If these talks continue to move forward, it’s huge. Oladipo is one of the young rising stars in the NBA and Atlanta getting him in a deal would be massive in more than one way. Not only would it would possibly give them someone to flip later on in the summer, but it would give Dennis Schroeder a young running mate for the future. Having a backcourt of Schroeder and Oladipo is scary dangerous if it develops, and is almost unfair if it happens.

For Orlando, Jeff Teague isn’t the young star in the making that Oladipo is, but he would give Scott Skiles a veteran leader at the point. That’s what the Magic have been lacking as they build a young roster of talent, and Teague might be able to help pull it all together.
