Knicks rookie Kristaps Porzingis slammed home a monstrous alley-oop in the Rising Stars Challenge

There were plenty of things to watch in the 2016 Rising Stars Challenge at NBA All-Star Weekend, but none more polarizing than New York Knicks rookie big man Kristaps Porzingis. As he’s done for his team throughout most of his rookie season, the 7-3 Latvian was ready to put on a show in the showcase on Friday night in Toronto, which of course included some thunderous dunks.

In the second half, Raul Neto had the ball at the left elbow when Porzingis lost his man on the right wing. He made a striding backdoor cut to the rim where Neto found him with a perfect lob to the Knicks rookie that Porzingis slammed home with authority:

If you’ve watched the Knicks even once this season, you’ve seen the sensational rookie make plays like this before. However, it doesn’t make it any less impressive to see a player as young as Porzingis is and a player of his size move and make the plays that he does on such a routine impressive.

Porzingis predictably was one of the brightest shining stars in the Rising Stars Challenge. Then again, he looks like a star virtually every time that he takes the court. Even amongst some of the best young players in the league, the Knicks rookie still finds a way to be the focal point.
