Who are the top cornerbacks in the 2016 NFL Draft class and what do each of them bring to the table?

The 2016 NFL Draft class is a deep one in terms of talent at the cornerback position. In one of the most important positions on the field, teams with that need will be delighted when they found out that they can get a solid corner in the fourth or fifth round, maybe even later than that.

With the league veering more toward pass-heavy offenses, with the exception of a few teams, teams are always looking to add more depth to the defensive backfield. Not much is more satisfying than having a solid pass defense, because the rest of the success takes care of itself.

If a team can stop the pass and force its opponent to rely on the run, that team’s chances of winning increase drastically.

Over the years, we have seen some of the league’s brightest stars join the NFL as members of the secondary. Heck, some of the greatest personalities play that position.

Look at Richard Sherman. He was an underrated player coming out of college at Stanford and now he has a Super Bowl ring and is considered one of the top cornerbacks in the game. Patrick Peterson was a star at LSU and that talent translated perfectly to the NFL. He’s one of the most feared corners out there.

Lastly, Josh Norman really broke onto the scene in 2015 as a top player as he helped lead the Carolina Panthers all the way to the Super Bowl. His lockdown mentality helped him come out victorious against the likes of Odell Beckham Jr. in the matchup of the year.

Who will be the next superstar in this talented crop of cornerbacks?
