Kanye West dropped his seventh studio album last night, but when will it be on Apple Music?

On Monday, Kanye said that his album will never be on Apple Music:

Kanye West is back in the absolute forefront of our conscious, as he dropped his seventh studio album in the most Kanye way possible this weekend. After weeks of changing the final title of the album, Yeezy released The Life of Pablo live on SNL this Saturday, and the world has been on fire since.

It’s probably the most Kanye album yet, as each track is self-aware, self-indulgent and self-delusional — which is both something people are praising and stoning Yeezy for. But that’s the point, really, as we’ve reached an apex with Kanye where everything he does is so genius it’s lame and so lame that it’s genius.

He’s everything Shia LaBeouf os trying to do by crying in a box and having people pay to watch it or wander off into the woods for a few days to freestyle whilst sporting a rattail. If Yeezy tried to do any of those things, we’d think it was brilliant expressionism — and that’s what The Life of Pablo is. It’s both the best and worst of Kanye on all levels.

One thing that has people sort of in unison about the release is the way he dropped the album. Like Rihanna and Beyonce recently, Kanye released The Life of Pablo exclusively on Tidal — which is Jay-Z’s streaming service. You need to sign up for the service to hear the album, which is free unless you forget to cancel the subscription after a month.

But when will the album be dropping on Apple Music — if ever?

Kanye has full digital control of The Live of Pablo for a week, which means you won’t be finding it anywhere Yeezy doesn’t want you to find it for the next handful of days. Right now, the only two places to hear the album are at Kanye’s official site and on Tidal — but it will be drop on Apple Music and Spotify in the coming weeks.

the exact date isn’t known at this moment, but there will almost certainly be crossover once the Tidal exclusivity blanket is lifted. Rihanna’s ANTI dropped first on Tidal and is now on Apple Music, while Future’s EVOL dropped on Apple first and is now on Tidal. So all that you need is patience if you don’t want to sign up for Tidal to hear The Life of Pablo.
