Real Madrid’s manager Zinedine Zidan says the club has moved on from Ronaldo’s comments.

Following Real Madrid’s match with Atletico Madrid, a 1-0 loss, Real’s superstar Ronaldo expressed why his team is 12 points behind La Liga leaders Barcelona.

Ronaldo insisted that if players like Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale, Marcelo and Pepe were fit, they would be top of the table. Instead, Ronaldo said that because of the fitness level of those players backups, Real Madrid has fallen into third place with 54 points, behind Atletico Madrid (58) and Barcelona (66).

Tuesday morning, new manager Zinedine Zidan said that the statements made by Ronaldo concerning his teammates fitness are behind the team.

Zidan said, “Cristiano has spoken with everyone,” said Zidane on Tuesday, ahead of the trip to Levante. “This subject is behind us. We all know the importance Cristiano has and we are all with him. The issue has been fixed.”

Although the issue has supposedly been resolved, Real Madrid is still in trouble if they have any outside shot at winning La Liga.

Ronaldo may have apologized to his teammates, but playing without forwards Bale and Benzema, two of the world’s best forwards, winning La Liga is a tall task. Jese and Lucas Vazquez, the forwards replacements, are obviously talented, they are at Real Madrid, but even Ronaldo insisted it is “not the same.”

Benzema, Bale and Ronaldo are considered one of the best trios in the world. Ronaldo, undoubtedly has been the best or second best forward in the world for years, but without the supporting cast, it is more difficult to produce results.

The trouble in the locker room for Real Madrid seems to be settling down because Ronaldo apologized, but the trouble for Real Madrid in La Liga, 12 points back of Barça, still stands.
