Raymond Moore made some disparaging comments about the WTA and Billie Jean King has a response

In case you might have missed it earlier in the day on Sunday, Indian Wells CEO Raymond Moore is about to be in some big, big trouble. Moore made some pretty questionable comments about female tennis players — actually, no they weren’t questionable, they were downright stupid.

If you did miss it, here, have a look and be amazed at the stupidity.

More or less, the man who has to pitch tournaments all around the world just degraded female tennis players everywhere, which was not the best move in his life, that’s for sure. Since the comments came to light, responses have come from all over the place, but some hold a little more weight than others.

You know, like if one of the pioneers of female tennis steps in to say something — Billie Jean King.

For the most part, you really have to admire the polite restraint that King showed here. There are probably a lot of female tennis players out there right now who would love for nothing more than to really give Moore a piece of their mind, but King chose the high road here, which is always the best option.

Still, the fact remains that with stars such as Serena and Venus Williams, Maria Sharapova and others, there was really no reason on this Earth that these comments needed to be made, not just by Moore, but by anyone.
