Houston Rockets forward Montrezl Harrell shoved a referee to the ground while down in the NBA D-League.

In the NBA, players have to get separated from time to time, but there is never an excuse for a player to put his hands on another player or an official. On Saturday night, Houston Rockets rookie Montrezl Harrell, who was on an assignment in the NBA D-League with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers got into an altercation with a member of the Bakersfield Jam.

While players and officials tried to separate Harrell and Derek Cooke Jr., Harrell committed a heinous and truly abhorrent act, as he proceeded to shove referee Jason Goldenberg straight to the ground.

It was truly one of the most ugly scenes to occur on a basketball court. After the incident, the National Basketball Referees Association released a statement and demanded action be taken by the league for the assault that had happened on the court.

There is absolutely no excuse for Harrell’s actions here and he will definitely be punished to the fullest extent, not to mention any legal action or charges that the ref might want to take of his own. This is a scene that no one wants to see at all.
