The Los Angeles Kings have what it takes to win the Stanley Cup in 2016.

After missing the playoffs last season and tons of offseason drama, the Los Angeles Kings have rebounded and are back where they belong: in the playoffs. Los Angeles backed their way into the postseason and will have to flip their switch to “on” to win the Stanley Cup once again. That’s something that the boys in black have proven that they can do.

Led by a suffocating defense and an opportunistic offense, Los Angeles finished in second place in the Pacific Division with a 48-28-6 record. That’s not an ideal position, but it’s worth noting that the previous two times that Los Angeles has won the Stanley Cup, they finished in third in their division. They are in a better position to win now than they were when they won the Cup.

As always, Los Angeles will face a very tough road to the Stanley Cup Finals. However, it’s a road that they’ve navigated twice in recent years. That experience will help them as they try to match the Blackhawks and their three titles since 2010.

Here are five reasons why the Kings can bring the Stanley Cup back to the west coast.
