Looking at the Houston Texans Day 3 selections in the 2016 NFL Draft

Even before the 2016 NFL Draft, it’s been clear that the Houston Texans’ focus this offseason is adding quality skill position players to their roster. That was clear when they signed running back Lamar Miller, when they signed quarterback Brock Osweiler, and it’s been clear over the first two days of the draft.

It started for the Texans when they selected wide receiver Will Fuller out of Notre Dame in Round 1 after trading up one spot to make sure they got him. On Day 2, the Texans addressed a need on the interior of their offensive line and then dipped again with a project of a receiver in Braxton Miller out of Ohio State.

Though there will be four rounds full played out on Day 3 of the 2016 NFL Draft, the Texans only have three selections on the day. Houston will have the No. 21 pick in Round 4 (No. 119 overall) and the No. 22 pick in Round 5 (No. 159 overall). They then acquired the No. 29 pick in Round 5 (No. 166 overall) from the Patriots in a trade and that will ultimately be the final selection of the 2016 NFL Draft for the Texans.
