Stephen Curry responds to LeBron’s MVP comments

LeBron praises Stephen Curry but casts a sliver of doubt on the unanimous MVP
On Wednesday, Golden State all-world shooting guard Stephen Curry became the first unanimous MVP in the history of the league. That’s only a small part of the amazing story of what Curry and the Warriors have accomplished as of late.
Fresh off last year’s NBA Championship in which they defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers, all the Warriors did this year so far is win a league-record 73 games and advance to the Western Conference Finals series against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Curry hit a league-record 402 three-point shots this year, breaking his old record by over 100, in earning the unanimous award.
But LeBron James, while praising Curry’s stats on the season, seemed to somehow question whether or not those numbers translate to the most valuable debate recently.
Curry shrugged off LeBron’s comments and with wry smile said, “I’ve gotten really good at ignoring people.”
James’ comments are a bit confusing as James did praise Curry several times during the interview: “If you look at Steph’s numbers….can you have really any debate with that when it comes to that award…take nothing away from him he is definitely deserving of that award,” before questioning whether or not he is the league’s MVP.
A rematch of Golden State and the Cleveland would help settle all of this once and for all.
