Hall of Fame defensive tackle Warren Sapp doesn’t want Baltimore Ravens defensive lineman Timmy Jernigan wearing his number.

The offseason is all about changes in the NFL and the exchange of jersey numbers is a common element of the offseason. Baltimore Ravens defensive lineman Timmy Jernigan has decided that he wants to switch his number to No. 99 this year.

Not only is he just switching his number, but he’s doing it to honor Hall of Fame defensive tackle Warren Sapp. Considering Sapp’s history, he might be one of the few people on this planet crazy enough to make such a tribute.

Anyways, Jernigan wants to honor a player that he idolized. However, whether it’s the fact that he played for Florida State and not Miami like Sapp did or Sapp is just simply being insufferable, Sapp doesn’t want Jernigan wearing his number.

Maybe there’s the off chance that Sapp realizes he isn’t the person that people should be looking up to and doesn’t want Jernigan to bring negative attention upon himself. While that would seem like the right thing, it also feels highly unlikely.

Perhaps he could have honored Tony Siragusa or a former Ravens defensive lineman instead.
