Now that the 2016 Indianapolis 500 is over, when can we see the Indianapolis 500 for 2017 take place?

While Indycar probably doesn’t get the recognition that it deserves, no one will question that the Indianapolis 500 is one of the more exciting sporting events of the entire year.

On Sunday, we were treated to the historical 100th running of the famous race, and it certainly was an exciting one. When it was all said and done, there actually was some history made, as rookie Alexander Rossi was able to take the checkered flag to come away with his first win. It’s exciting to see anyone win the Indianapolis 500, but when you probably get to see it jump start a promising career, that’s exciting in itself.

But, again, the 2016 running is all in the books, so there are probably a lot of people now looking forward to when we can do this all again next year in 2017.

Well, to answer that question, the 2017 Indianapolis 500 will take place right around the same time as usual on May 28. That is when you can see all of this Indycar excitement again.

So right now is when you can start making your picks for next year. Of course, however, it goes without saying that everyone will be looking to see if Rossi can pull off the improbable repeat and make some more history.
