The Lafayette Regional has been set for the 2016 NCAA Baseball Tournament.

One of the great things about the NCAA Baseball Tournament is the fact that small schools can have a great season and end up hosting their own regional in the tournament. This year, the 2016 NCAA Baseball Tournament Selection Show proved once again that if you play great, you will get to host a regional.

This year, the UL Lafayette will be the No. 1 seed in the Lafayette Regional and they will be taking on No. 4 Princeton in their first matchup. The other battle in the tournament will be No. 3 Sam Houston State taking on the No. 2 Arizona Wildcats.

The Wildcats had thought their play this year would earn them the chance to host a regional, but it was not enough and the committee showed that they wouldn’t undermine a smaller school in the name of a larger one.

Still, this is a fantastic region and this could end up being the one to watch with Princeton also showing off their strength as well. Who will come away from this region and advance on in the tournament this year?
