Red Bull has partnered with Capcom to bring the North American leg of Capcom’s Street Fighter V tournament finals to Red Bull Battle Grounds.

Red Bull has been expanding their coverage and promotion of eSports gradually over the past few years, but are just starting to ramp up their actual hosting of competition. Last year, the Red Bull Battle Grounds strictly hosted StarCraft II competition, and now it looks like they will be partnering with Capcom to bring fighting games like Street Fighter V into the picture.

As revealed on their website, Red Bull will host the Capcom Pro Tour North American Finals at Red Bull Battle Grounds, running from November 4th to November 6th at the Seattle Exhibition Hall. The first two days will knock down an open bracket of 1,024 Street Fighter V players, with the final day hosting the North American finals among high-ranking players from qualifying events hosted around the country.

Furthermore, Red Bull will be placing their mark in fighting game communities by hosting Red Bull Proving Grounds events in six major North American cities. Philadelphia, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle and Toronto will each run their own monthly regional tournaments, with the winners from each joining up at the Red Bull Santa Monica eSports studio later this year to face off against each other. Each player is fighting for a spot in the Red Bull Battle Grounds Finals bracket.

By running these local Street Fighter V tournaments (with the help of local tournament organizers), Red Bull will be establishing amateur rankings for the first time in a tournament setting of its kind. Players looking to jump from casual to competitive eSports play will be thrust into the deep end immediately and be forced to tread water.

Regional Proving Grounds Street Fighter V matches, as well as the Capcom Pro Tour NA Finals, will be broadcast live on Twitch. Registration for the open tournament is available now.
