Patrick Beverley weighs in on Dellavedova hitting Iggy in the nuts
By David Rouben
Patrick Beverley does not approve of Matthew Dellavedova’s love tap on Andre Iguodala.
The Cleveland Cavaliers had some serious momentum in the third quarter as they started out on a 7-0 run, then took their first lead since the opening minutes. However, Matthew Dellavedova hitting Andre Iguodala in the nuts may have killed any momentum the Cavaliers were building.
Dellavedova got a common foul, and soon after that Iguodala hit a 3-pointer to give the Golden State Warriors a double-digit lead. Unsurprisingly, Dellavedova is becoming a public enemy around the league again for his actions. Many people think he should’ve gotten more than just a common foul, including Patrick Beverleyl:
Of course, everyone remembers Beverley’s antics in Game 1 of the Warriors’ first round series with the Houston Rockets. Beverley got into multiple scuffles with Steph Curry, and was assessed a technical foul. He was booed every time he had the ball, and was assessed a technical foul for his actions in Game 1.
But this tweet is in reference to the fact that, even though Dellavedova’s actions were a lot dirtier than Beverley’s, he only got a common foul while Beverley was assessed a technical.
Even so, Delly’s actions are doing nothing to help his team, and stuff like this only reinforce his status as the NBA’s dirtiest player. This play will likely be reviewed by the league and he might get a suspension as a result. If the Warriors end up winning this game, this will be seen as a huge turning point in the game.
