Chicago White Sox manager Robin Ventura is on the hot seat. Who could be brought in to replace him?

According to MLB Insider Jon Heyman, Chicago White Sox manager Robin Ventura is on the hot seat, as the team continues to slide after a hot start.

“Robin Ventura is coming under fire in Chicago, and some White Sox people are starting to wonder whether a change could be coming, or maybe even warranted,” Heyman reported. “As one White Sox-connected person put it, things are ‘not great’ regarding Ventura’s stats.”

All was good on the South Side of Chicago when the White Sox started off the season at 23-10. However, things have changed now that they sit at 33-33 and in fourth place in the AL Central.

The White Sox are still a talented team, and after trading for James Shields and calling up Tim Anderson, they still clearly believe they have a chance to compete for a post-season spot in 2016. Could getting rid of Ventura be the spark that this team needs?

Ventura has always been questioned as a in-game tactical manager, but it is hard to place the blame for their slide squarely on him. That being said, he would be a prime candidate to be the fall guy.

Who would be the ideal candidate to replace Ventura in a theoretical firing? Let’s take a look at the candidates.
