From the very beginning the Cleveland Cavaliers smothered the Golden State Warriors and shut down everything the Warriors tried to do offensively. For almost five minutes to begin the game, the Warriors didn’t even have a point on the board.

By the end of the first quarter, the Cavaliers had a 20-point advantage and it was clear that this was a different team than the one that fell in Game 6 on their home floor last year.

The Warriors wouldn’t roll over however. They would chip away at the Cavaliers’ advantage and would get it to single digits. Foul trouble would strike Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and others, which allowed the Cavaliers to push it back up to a sizeable lead at the half.

In the third quarter, the Cavaliers got their lead to 24, but they began to get a little careless while Klay Thompson got hot and the Warriors got within single digits again. That’s when James put the hammer down heading into the fourth quarter of the game.

In the fourth quarter, James was driving the basketball, shooting the basketball and feeding Tristan Thompson with some huge lobs. Finally after James grabbed a ball late in the game, Curry would lose his cool and would foul out and receive an ejection.

He would proceed to toss his mouthpiece into crowd and strike a fan. Curry would apologize, but it was clear that Golden State was melting down. The Cavaliers would cruise the rest of the way and they would force a Game 7.
