Metta World Peace surely wants to destroy them on the court, but gets emotional about LeBron James and Michael Jordan on a cooking show with his daughter.

Los Angeles Lakers small forward Metta World Peace is a champion and one of the best on-ball defenders during his successful NBA career. While appearing on a cooking show called ‘Home & Family’ on The Hallmark Channel with his daughter, Sadie Artest, making a summer chicken salad that Peter Klaven would definitely enjoy watching ‘Chocolat’ with, Peace gets a little emotional when asked about his experience watching LeBron James in the 2016 NBA Finals (6:55).

Peace remembers being 19 years old playing a pickup game with James in Chicago, who was 15 at the time, with the greatest player in Chicago Bulls history in Michael Jordan.

He said that he didn’t talk to James directly about winning the 2016 NBA Finals for the Cleveland Cavaliers, but did speak to some of James’ teammates like Iman Shumpert.

Peace said that while he ruthlessly competes against James on the court, he did say that cried for James once he was able to win the NBA Finals for Cleveland, ending a 52-year professional championship drought in Northeast Ohio.

To think that two teenagers back in the late 1990s, early 2000s that were playing a pickup game in Chicago against Jordan would go on to be multi-time NBA champions in Peace and James. To be a fly on the wall for that pickup game in Chicago had to have been a real treat for any diehard NBA fan.
