Despite constantly coming up in MLB Trade Rumors, the Atlanta Braves are reportedly not going to trade ace pitcher Julio Teheran.

In a thin starting pitching trade market, there is undoubtedly going to be a lot of interest in Atlanta Braves ace Julio Teheran. However, according to MLB Insider Jon Heyman, the 26-52 Braves are not interested in moving Teheran in a deal.

Heyman cites a Braves’ source who insists, “We are not trading Teheran.”

“Yet pressed, word came that they are ‘99.9 percent’ not trading Teheran. Which isn’t zero, you’ll notice (though it’s close),” Heyman then reported.

Teheran is having the best season of his young career in 2016, posting an impressive 2.46 ERA on an awful Braves’ team. Teheran shows great natural stuff, and has really started to command his pitches well this season. Control is no longer an issue, and Teheran has thrived.

The 25-year-old right-handed pitcher is likely to be the Braves’ representative at the upcoming All-Star Game, and also has an extremely bright future beyond 2016.

More from Atlanta Braves

The Braves have Teheran under control in a very team-friendly contract that goes through 2020. His success and contract makes Teheran an extremely attractive trade candidate on the market, hence all of the MLB Trade Rumors surrounding his name.

That being said, he is also an extremely attractive option to lead the Braves in to the future. Atlanta is in a clear rebuilding situation and they have done an incredible job of adding impact prospects to the mix.

The Braves will likely be legitimate contenders in recent years, and having Teheran around as the stable force in the rotation would obviously be great. Unless they get a huge package that lands them multiple impact players, Teheran is not going anywhere.
