Florida Panthers Roberto Luongo continues to be the best as he once again won Twitter by making everybody laugh.

The Florida Panthers have an excellent goaltender in Roberto Luongo. A strong case could be had that he is a future Hall of Famer. He has consistently defied age and with James Reimer joning him in Florida, that should only help Luongo in his quest to last in the NHL. There’s one thing Luongo is better at than goaltending: making everybody laugh. Ahead of a very stressful first day of free agency, Luongo leaped over the high bar that he sets for himself and proved once again why he’s the best.

Free agency is stressful for everybody. It’s stressful for the players, fans, front offices, and media. Luongo proved that laughter is the best medicine and helped everybody laugh off a lot of the free agency stress. Day one of free agency saw a ton of huge moves and surprises but Luongo, as he has done throughout his time on Twitter, once again stole the show.

Luongo’s Panthers had a strong first day of free agency. Reimer should allow Luongo to get more rest as Reimer has been quite effective when used in a tandem. Once Luongo retires, the Panthers will have a starting goalie with a cap hit that’s not even in the top 20 for goaltenders. They also signed forwards Colton Sceviour and Jonathan Marchessault to cheap deals. Sceviour in particular could be a very nice bargain.
