Will Daniel Bryan be the one running the Smackdown show when it goes live next week?

Monday night on WWE RAW, Vince McMahon returned to television, and during his appearance, he announced that Shane McMahon would be the one running Smackdown when it goes live on July 19 and Stephanie McMahon would be the one running RAW. However, there was a twist to the announcement, when Vince dropped the bomb to both of them that next Monday they would each need to appoint a general manager.

Well, we might already know who the Smackdown GM will be, thanks to a little boo boo from WWE themselves.

After RAW went off the air, the WWE app apparently ran a story in which they seem to allude to the fact that Daniel Bryan will be the one in charge of Smackdown when it goes live very soon here.

If this is indeed the case, it’s not a bad move by WWE in any capacity. Although retired, Bryan is one of the most popular stars in the history of the  company and he still has a big place in the hearts of fans.

Then, of course, it can’t be ignored that he’ll help with the ratings as well. The focus of this brand split is very much on Smackdown, as they’re taking a chance here with finally airing it live and they need to show that it can bring in ratings. Having Bryan there basically on a week-to-week basis is a good way to make sure you’re doing well in that regard.

We’ll know for sure next Monday night, but it looks as if Daniel Bryan will be returning to telavision on a regular basis, this time in a position of authority — how ironic, huh?
