In the rubber match between 6-6 CLG and 11-1 Immortals, the Immortals AD Carry picked up a crucial Pentakill to seal the series win.

As we go deeper into the Summer Split, Immortals just get stronger. They bounced back from a crushing comeback win by CLG to even the recent series up 1-1, then used superior map control to take an early lead in the deciding game.

CLG went for the dragon, and Immortals came in to challenge. The Immortals Mid went down, which would normally spell defeat for any teamfight. That’s when WildTurtle came in arrows flying on Ashe.

WildTurtle scored a great stun with his ultimate, got the quick kill, then went to work on the rest of CLG. A series of knockups from Azie and Rek’Sai gave WildTurtle the time he needed to focus down the rest of CLG and set Immortals up to take the win.

Immortals forced another teamfight in the middle of the map, and it was all over after that. They steamrolled CLG in the late game, taking the series 2-1 after some CLG heroics.

Immortals are now 12-1, and are looking like the only team that can challenge this dominant 12-0 TSM team. We’re getting down to crunch time in the Summer Split, and teams like Cloud 9 and CLG are going to have to play catch up if they want to be compete for the top spot at the end of the split. Despite losing, CLG didn’t play awful. Immortals capitalized on some crucial mistakes, ones that CLG can quickly fix. We haven’t seen the last of them in this Split.
